Hello,
My name is Kimoy Taylor.
I am a young professional in my 20s always looking for my next big adventure.
Currently, I am a Program Supervisor for the Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics Program in the State of Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. I supervise a team of 14 people and manage the workflow for each research panel. The Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics has tasked us with collecting employment and wage data from 24 Metropolitan Statistical Areas in the State.
My life story starts on an island in the Caribbean but, it didn’t get interesting until I moved to Washington, DC to get my bachelors degrees at American University in International Relations and Economics with a minor in Japanese language.
It was there that I discovered my passion for research. I believe that a researcher’s job is to tell a compelling story. I have always been fascinated with storytelling and have written quite a few books, albeit mediocre vampire romance novels.
My time at American University has allowed me to tell stories about foreign policy topics that I am passionate about such as human right issues in China, and North Korea as well as US economic polices in East Asia. I believe that my extensive training and experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis would be an asset to any projects that I undertake in the future.
After school, I moved to Japan to practice speaking Japanese and experience the culture. I lived in one of the most beautiful remote villages in the Kanto Region. Thanks to that life changing experience I am now at an Upper-Intermediate Japanese level.
I am interested in using my experiences to inspire others.
Dreamer
Never let it be said that to dream is a waste of one’s time, for dreams are our realities in waiting. In dreams, we plant the seeds of our future.
